Laser questing on the 9th. What a good night was had by all.

There were 43 of us students, parents and instructors taking part. At the end of the night there were a few tired children, parents and instructors. Who knew running round shooting each other could be such hard work.

There was rather a lot of competition between the instructors, Dave came out as best accuracy and Steve took the best back stabber award you have been warned for next time.

A big thank you to all the junior students we had nothing but praise about your behaviour from the staff at Laser Zone (and the adults lol).

As always thanks go to Tracy for organising things and the photos even if every one shot you while you were taking them.

Before training started Saturday, Sensei Dave Sharkey came to announce the promotion of Sensei Karl Thornton to 6th Dan. This is a major achievement, so congratulations from all of us Sensei.

Saturday and Sunday’s warm up got rid of any hangovers and was a great way to start five hours of training.

Saturday’s training ended with our Kata competition and then Sunday saw our Kumite competition take place. For some this was their first time at competing, everyone gave a good performance and I hope you all enjoyed the experience.
Then we had some demonstrations in kata and weapons from some of our Junior black belts and instructors before the awards were given out.

On Sunday the award for the best junior student at Spring Camp was awarded, this award is decided by the instructors for the junior student who puts in the most effort over the two days. So congratulations to Michael Langli.

Awards for the winners of the Kata and Kumate competitions were also given out.
Spring Camp is over for another year a big thank you to Sensei and the other instructors for a great weekend and of course Tracy for all the work she does behind the scenes (I will get a slap from Tracy putting this bit in) but we the instructors know how hard she works.
Thank you from all the instructors for making this another excellent weekend.
